This course provides an overview of safely and compliantly working and decommissioning air-conditioning systems in motor vehicles, and the health and safety risks involved.

This course covers:

  • An overview of what Fluorinated Gas (F Gas) is.

  • How these gases damage the environment.

  • Legislation relating to F Gas.

  • Familiarisation of the chemical and refrigerant hazards associated with recovering, handling and storing pressurised refrigerant gas.

  • Awareness of suitable and appropriate PPE to protect against such hazards.

  • How a modern vehicle air conditioning system functions.

  • Typical refrigerant recovery machinery and how they work.

  • How to safely handle, store and transport pressurised cylinders appropriately.

  • How to properly record and report F Gas activities to the appropriate authorities.
