Its rare something is offered completely free of charge nowadays without there being some sort of catch. However, the US-based Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), have done exactly that. In partnership with safety experts from around the world, the ISRI have launched an online training program on how to safely recycle electric vehicle (EV) batteries. ISRI worked with the Energy Security Agency (ESA) and other fire safety professionals to develop the three-level High Voltage Electric Vehicle Technology Training for Recycling Professionals, with their first level being available free of charge. Having recently completed the course myself, I encourage anyone, who hasn't already considered how their treatment facility will manage EV and Hybrid vehicles, to undertake the course and use this as a springboard from which to formulate a plan on how their future business intends to manage these technologies going forward.
